Smooth Blue Aster (Symphyotrichum laeve), as its name suggests, has leaves that are notably smooth with a unique purple flower. Grows to be a relatively tall and shrubby perennial, recommended to cut back to produce shorter blooms. Blooms in the late summer and into the early fall. Drought tolerant. Prefers sunny locations and well-drained soil.
