An extremely hardy, shade and drought tolerant aster. It is a rare aster to find growing wild in Ontario; however, our plants are grown from seed collected responsibly from original wild populations. This aster boasts blooms of starry white daisies, with pink to yellow centers, in late summer and fall. White Wood Aster sometimes blooms for weeks, and although the flowers are quite small, they are produced in vast quantities and are quite attractive to bees and butterflies. The fall foliage is also to be admired as the leaves turn a yellow to purple colour. This plant thrives in wood edge and shade gardens.
